Cinematography Workshop

The Arts North Digital Media Centre  is thrilled to announce an exciting new series of workshops for local aspiring videographers. This is an intensive, full-day experience that will be offered on six dates this Spring, on April 25, April 26, May 23, May 24, June 27 and June 28. Each workshop will run from 9am to 5pm. This is an exciting new extension of learning opportunities for our local artists, cultural organizations and aspiring videographers and a great addition to our Arts North classes. The workshops will help everyone hone their video creating and editing, and will help you get noticed online!

These informative and fun workshops will be led by Jeff Gruending, founder of local video marketing firm Precision FX and a well-known member of the Arts North studio community. Topics covered in the full-day workshop will include camera fundamentals, lighting essentials, audio production, composition & storytelling, and editing & final production (see details on poster below).

Participants will bring their own camera, and optionally a laptop, and they will be provided with a printed manual for the workshop.

The cost is $250 for CAC Members, and $300 for Non-Members. Consider registering for a one-year membership with the CAC, at the low cost of $30 and you will receive a $50 discount off the full workshop price. An amazing offer!

Camera Fundamentals

Have you ever wondered why some shots look cinematic while others feel amateur? The secret lies in mastering your camera. This workshop hits on the technical aspects of cinematography, transforming complex concepts into practical skills where you’ll learn to manipulate your camera to create the right visual for your project.

Lighting Essentials

Composition and Visual Storytelling
