Arts and Health Workshop
February 25th, 2009 1:30-3:30pm at Studio 2880 there was an Arts and Health Forum :
As you all know, there is a positive connection between the arts and our well being. Research from around the world shows the positive impacts on individual and community health with resulting positive outcomes on the cost and effectiveness. At our workshop we will hear from Nancy Cooley, who is currently developing a business case for a BC network on the Arts and Health and is eager to gather northern ideas and input for plans for a BC network.
At the workshop we will:
- explore possible organizational options for a network;
- review the pilot network web site and any suggested additions or modifications;
- bring people together in communities who may not know about each other's activities;
- identify any desired local actions to advance the development of arts and health;
- begin building working relationships;
- update the activities and interests of BC residents for inclusion in the pilot web site, in the Directory of People and Activities at the Intersection of the Arts and Health and a revised version of the paper "Arts and Culture in Medicine and Health: A Survey Research Paper";
- Explore any other topics raised by participants.
